To get to Cinq Cerf, you can travel through Atlantic Canada by vehicle to North Sydney, Nova Scotia, where you will board a Marine Atlantic ferry for a six to eight hour ferry trip to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

To harvest his moose in 2015, Jean Guy used his Mathews compound bow, set at 62 lbs.

It is a two and a half hour trip from Port aux Basques to Top Pond, which is on Route 480. Once you turn down Route 480, it is 111.8 kilometres to the helicopter pad (GPS 47° 53.947′ N 57° 38.476′ W) on the right side of the road.

If you choose to fly, contact Air Canada for connections to Deer Lake, NL, from where you will travel two and a half hours to Top Pond, using the directions above.

Once you arrive in Top Pond, arrangements will be made for your 15 minute flight to camp, which is on a large lake at Bread and Cheese Hill.

2014: Jean Guy used his new muzzleloader (tradition Pursuit 50 cal) 3x50 gr white hot powders, with 245 gr powerbelt copper bullet for a 229 yard shot, great way to harvest this nice 10 pt bull. The gun was a Christmas gift from his sons who were on the hunt as well.
